GOOD GUN WHEN YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT!

THE PASLODE IS A GOOD GUN IF YOU USE THEIR NAILS. THEY ARE HARDENED SO THEY WILL PENETRATE IF YOU USE IT RIGHT. THE TIP MOVES TO ENGAGE THE MATERIAL YOU ARE PENETRATING. THE OTHER REVIEW TALKS ABOUT HOW DANGEROUS IT IS BUT WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. THE KEY IS POSITIVE PLACEMENT AND NOT INDECISIVE PLACEMENT. ONE LAST THING IS TO MAKE SURE YOUR COMPRESSOR RATES OVER 105 POUNDS PRESSURE.

But hey, I've only owned one for about 8 years. Its not something that comes out of the trailer on a daily basis but when you get into a pile of Simpson hardware it beats the heck out of hand driving for hours on end. The only places it doesn't fit are tight, and thats what palm nailers are for. As to the finicky comment, I guess I've never thought that and don't agree with it now. I think that individual must just not have understood how the gun works. If you place the tip in the hole in the hardware and squeeze the trigger, thats where the nail is going.
sorry i bought it

the gun is heavy / big / huge diaphram head / and has ricocheted 8 nails so far, 3 of which has hit employees. we have shot about 350 nails with this gun and it is very finicky. it has a guide that is supposed to "move" and allow the nail to enter the hole but sometimes it just shoots the nail back at your face at a high rate of speed. It is dangerous and I am going to try to return it because it is dangerous.
